A continuation of ‘Inner-self’.
Clothing, just like our skin and hair, gives us our identity, a sense of place in society. Like a facade, we can be whoever we want to be, to express our true selves, and to be free to ourselves. It gives us confidence, individuality and a purpose. You could even say that fashion is part of our DNA. It’s subjective, political and fun. All of this comes from a piece of fabric. It’s a powerful thing.
‘Fabric’ is about how something so simple that we put on ourselves, most days, allows us to freely express ourselves and be comfortable within ourselves. Shot to resemble high fashion campaigns, it shouts confidence, dominance and empowerment. Whatever you chose to wear, wear it with pride because there’s only one you, so be the best you.
Le Flux.
A zine to compliment the projects ‘Inner-self.’ and ‘fabric.’
French for ‘the flow’, Le Flux is a zine that I made alongside my final images that were handed in for submission. Le Flux focuses on two things, the curvature of the body and the flow of the fabrics, especially when the two come together. It’s about the relationship we have with clothing, how it becomes a part of us, how we use it convey feelings and express our true selves. This concept of flow will run deep in the zine, where everything will flow smoothly throughout from one image - and project - to another.
